"Park Zonnehof" Duivendrecht
The original plan Zonnehof in Duivendrecht has a long history. AAARCHITECTEN won the competition organized by Zonnehuisgroep Amstelland among three agencies for the realization of a small-scale group housing project. However, the plan had to be completely revised programmatically after the preliminary design phase due to changed regulations in healthcare. The follow-up assignment consisted of a larger program with 137 ground-level houses and apartments spread over seven building parts.
The total plan area consists of two pavilions in the park, between the existing high-rise flats in the west and a meandering building wall along the Satellietbaan, which embraces the entire plan area on the east side. There are two more park blocks between the two pavilions and De Meander, which are situated parallel to the district access road. A large part of the plan consists of life-course-proof (care) homes.
